4080 Radio-Control Is Everything

Well haven't heard?  There is a new online radio station broadcasting called 4080 Radio. I've spoke about 4080 a couple of blogs ago. It is now official. 4080 Radio is one of those stations that caters to an urban listening audience. 4080 holds a special place in my(lil roc's) heart because I came up with the name. I got it from a Q-tip line off the song "Check The Rhyme"( industry rule number 4080, record company people are shaaady.) I've been a huge Tribe Called Quest fan since their rise in hip hop, so it was obvious to base a station motivated by those pioneers. We specialize in playing rap, hip hop, new r&b,neo-soul & classic r&b. We also offer heavy rotation to independent artists who meet the requirements of 4080 radio's policy & regulations(Email us at 4080radio@gmail.com for details) . So now you can groove to some of your favorite tunes while at work, home or just surfing the net by logging on to http://www.4080radio.com/  Commercial free(for now..lol)
Brand new broadcasts of Go Live Radio: Top 10 (with lil roc) coming soon. New show titled "Gud Money Radio" with Sean Pea dropping soon. And MizzUndastood has a new show debuting on 4080 radio. We have slots for any person interested in doing a show. Just hit us up. #GoLive with 4080 Radio!!!!!

Artists need 4080 in there life

If you didnt know anything about lil roc, you would know that lil roc is an artist first. Now as an artist, I have experienced some of the best treatment from Dj's, promoters and most importantly, the fans. Radio play has always been a difficult thing to accomplish, especially when you are an independent artist. Major radio stations wouldnt play independent artists if their lives depended on it.(real talk). There were some Dj's who understood the struggle of independent artists,so they decided to put their reputations on the line to play some of the music on major radio(shout out Dj Lonnie B & Sir Rj). Just hearing your song on the radio gave an artist hope that one day they will make it to fame and stardom. I was always confused about the way program directors picked and chose which records to place in heavy rotation & which records to play only once. Payola(noun:the act of paying money to receive a certain amount of record spins on radio)plays a big part on a certain song's radio success. Also, big name artists like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Kanye, Ceelo Green, etc,etc automatically receive heavy rotation based on their past top ten success. With all that said, what is an independent artist suppose to do??

Lets fast forward it to 2011. The internet is now the BEST tool for independent artists to promote & sell their music where they get 100% profit(as long as they own their publishing..but thats another blog.lol). I'm only speaking to the serious artists when I say that. The internet gives independent artists the control to monitor their music career. Basically, the more sites you join & post, the more people will hear & buy your music.
Online Radio is now an alternative method of getting your music in regular rotation. The million dollar question is how bad do you want it?

We have created 4080 Radio to cater to the "independent artists." There is no other outlet for independent artists to market their music online unless they give it away.(free downloads). Now free downloads are kool, but when you have 10,000 folks downloading your album for free, what's your worth? Itunes & CD baby are incredible ways of marketing your albums because your fans have to pay a fee to download your music. Who is winning in that situation? I tell you who is winning, YOU ARE. And how do your fans get a chance to listen to what you are selling?? Radio. 4080 Radio is offering heavy rotation to ALL artists. How does 108 spins a month sound?

This is not a catch. For more information on how you can get your song heard by millions & millions of people, send a comment of interest to 4080radio@gmail.com #GoLive

Remember when Q-Tip, from the hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest said, "industry rule number 4080, record company people are shaaaady"?.. That was one of the dopest hip hop lines ever. Now, there is probally no official industry rule book available, but Q-Tip made us believe that there was one.
